Fresh from their second win of the campaign against London Skolars in round 16, Cornwall hosted Midlands Hurricanes at the Memorial Ground. 

The Choughs were eyeing up back-to-back wins for the first time in the club's history.

For Midlands, they were yet to taste victory under recently appointed coach mark Dunning, who replaced Richard Squires in May.
